Japanese Ball Jointed Dolls like our star doll MoMo are a gorgeous, beautiful style of Japanese Jointed Doll. BJDs (Ball Jointed Dolls,) are crafted of delicate resin and jointed together with a thick, strong elastic rope. They can come in many sizes, including MSD (like our dear MoMo, 15-20”) Or SD (25-45”.);Though all companies vary. These BJD’s wigs can be easily changed, as can their eyes (Simply open up the head, snap in and out the resin bead eyes and cover the backs with the clay provided.) They come in all shapes and sizes, all ages, all body types, all colors, all anything, and 100% customizable. Face-Up essentially means ‘Facial make up.’ Face-Ups are not just the doll’s lip gloss and eyeliner, but their full facial features, including eyebrows, natural lip color, face/body blushing, and more. If you use a matte sealant spray before and after, it’s easy to do this. You can use a variety of mediums, from chalk pastels and watercolor pencils to acrylic paints and airbrushes. BJD collectors will also often insert physical eyelashes, similar to those of a porcelain dolls’, through the back of the head. It’s fun to add little details like a heart on the cheek or even a tattoo on the arm to your doll and give them a little personality.
